I've always been a fan of diamond jewellery and am fortunate to be with a partner who supports my tastes and shares my appreciation of antique styles of fashion. Because of this, we've agreed that our ring is to be beautifully elaborate, with three pear shaped stones surrounded by halos of tiny diamonds and finely detailed filigree carvings with milgrain and engraving all over the ring.
Below is the general idea for the ring style (main pear with two side pears & halos) :
We've already seen one stone with a beautiful shape that is quite special because it is slightly shallower than would be expected from a stone that looks to have such perfect dimensions. This slight shallowness makes the top of the stone look slightly wider and bigger, which I love!
Next week we're seeing a few more stones with different jewellers and then we have to make the big decision. (HOW TERRIBLY EXCITING!)
The whole process is just so interesting that I am making a little video about what I've learned thus far, and shall be sure to post it - and further updates - right here on RegencyGirl.
Until then, here are some of the reference images that we've sent jewellers for the feel of the ring, with a few mood images to convey that old world regency look that I so adore.
I so hope that it turns out how we've envisioned... it will be absolutely stunning if it does!
